Codes and conventions of a magazine advertisement.

A classic magazine advertisement is seen opposite. These advert have specific codes and conventions that almost all of them tend to follow, often subconsciously. These codes and conventions are what allows the audience to recognise the product as a magazine advertisement immediately.

Such codes and conventions are seen below:

- A title, normally the artist name to identify who the advertisement is about

- Name of album/single - allows the audience to recognise the album or single elsewhere

- Image - This is what the audience will see first, so it promotes the product or artist

- Sometimes a list of tracks included - this gives all of the information of the what songs are on the album

- Release dates/information - this informs the audience about the details needed such as where a purchase can be made
