Taylor Swift is and has been for some time an integral part of the indie rock genre. This is identified frequently through her use of iconography as we often see her use certain props. A common prop that we associate with her is the acoustic guitar as well her casual clothing and the specific colour in her costume which leads us to making a connection with herself and the genre of indie rock as a whole.

James Blunt...
James Blunt has been recognised as part of the indie rock culture and the music genre ever since he started to become noticed worldwide in 2004. His almost 'sad' and 'depressing' individual style has set him apart from other artists and made him one of the leading vocalists in the genre. He achieved this through the use of his image as well as what he was seen wearing. Similarly to Taylor Swift, he was also seen with an acoustic guitar on numerous occasions once again instantly associating him with the indie rock genre.
