Record labels are essential in the creating of music and their videos. It is a brand or organisation helping in the marketing of music and their music videos. They sign artists and produce them. The top three are;
- Universal Music Group
- Sony Music Entertainment
- Warner Music Group
In terms of the Arctic Monkeys, they are signed to a company called 'Domino'. Created in 1993 in London, they are an independent record company that have a number of artists on their books, including arguably their most famous of their artists; The Arctic Monkeys. As well as this, artists include; Animal collective, Clinic, The Pastels and Porches. Laurence Bell and his partner Jacqui Rice founded Domino in 1993 with the companies' first actual release coming from Sebadoh with ''Rocking the forest'. Their first UK number one album came in 2005 with 'You could have it so much better' by Franz Ferdinand. Their first UK number one single came from The Arctic Monkeys with 'I bet you look good on the dance floor.'
